Boilers

Tiny Power offers a boiler big enough to run the "M" engine. This is big enough to drive a launch larger than mine!

Martene, Howe and Baylis had various exquisite marine steam engines including sliding valve engines with two and three cylinders last time I looked. Not sure if they're still in business tho.. My friend John Friese was their Santa Barbara, CA representative. He said that, compared to Cheddar, these are higher speed engines and the level of workmanship is, if possible, even higher. Camden Miniature Steam Services offers copious quantities of books on a variety of model engineering topics. One item that caught my eye: drawings and castings for Arthur Leak's 3" and 5" x 3" stroke marine compound. 24-hour Telephone number: 01373-830151

R. F. Hasbrouck offers several plans sets for engines that can be built without castings. These include three model-sized engines and four full-sized engines. The largest engine offered is a 2HP, 20cylinder vee engine with a bore of 1-7/8" and a stroke of 2". There is also a single cylinder engine that has a bore of 2-1/4" and a stroke of 3".

Roger Mallinson makes boilers and "small" steam engines, including the Compact Twin HP engine with cylinders up to 3" dia. It has Marshall valve gear, built-in dynamo and thrust bearing. "Theoretical horsepower" is 6.9 at 120 to 250 psi. The address is:
